We are sure that you enjoyed your summer vacation well, but now that summer is long gone, it is time to start (re) exercising. Do you dislike the thought of returning to the sweat-feeling rooms of your fitness center? Don't worry, we know of 7 effective ways to motivate yourself to visit it ...
# 1: Look at pictures from the previous winter
Winters are the seasons during which most people usually gain a few extra pounds and trust us, those pounds are certainly visible in every photo! Review them on your computer (or take them out of the boxes you keep in the attic if you are still a fan of fabricated photos) and find one from the previous winter (or from a year or two ago) to see how overweight you are. You will probably come to the conclusion that they are no good for you - gym, here I am!
# 2: Promise yourself some real reward
Of course, great health and attractive looks are the best rewards of regular visits to the fitness center, but this often sounds too small and too abstract, so it doesn't turn out to be some crucial motivators. If you really want to get motivated, promise yourself some real reward for returning to the gym; it could be practically anything - a weekend abroad, a new pair of shoes, new exercise equipment, or an entirely new smut apparatus that will very nicely round out the decision to start taking care of your health again.
# 3: Tell everyone
If you only make a silent promise to yourself that you will return to the gym, your change of mind or simply "forgetting" this promise becomes more likely outcomes than when everyone in your environment knows about that promise. Tell your partner, kids, friends, colleagues, or even annoying acquaintances you don't really like, but you're forced to see them often - all these people will encourage you to really go back to the gym or make fun of you if you don't. Either way, you get it because it will be great motivation to finally start exercising.
# 4: Remember some things
At least one positive aspect of failure to convince yourself that you should go back to the gym - the very fact actually reveals that you used to visit the gym more or less regularly, so you know for yourself how good it is to sweat and then look in the mirror afterwards. Well, it's time to brush your memories a little and remember what it was that made you feel good in the past when you went to the gym. This is a simple strategy, but it helps many…
# 5: Find a gym buddy
It may be anyone you already know or even someone you don't know so well, but you would like to get to know that person a little better - you need someone to share the pain and pleasure of returning to the gym. Sooner or later someone will say yes and you will have a new companion to help you get back to your regular gym workout routine.
# 6: Be honest with yourself
What really prevents you from going back to the gym? The answer is never "I just don't like it", so what is the reason for your passivity? Do you lack membership money? Do you miss the time to visit? Do you feel like you are getting too far away from the rest of the family because of those extra hours spent at the gym? Don't have a car to drive? Whatever is the real problem, it can be overcome. Don't have a car? Buy a bus ticket or buy a few new props and make your own home gym? You have no money? Work extra hours or cut some costs - it never pays to save up on your health ...
# 7: Set realistic goals for yourself
And make sure you write them down, otherwise they will evaporate somewhere as fast as you should remember them… Goals are what takes us through life and goals can help you get back to your regular exercise routine or start you create it. You just have to take care to set realistic goals (otherwise they will have a completely negative impact on you) and take care to monitor your progress towards those goals. There is no better feeling than feeling that you have succeeded in something!
